IBF Super-Middleweight Champion Caleb Plant will defend his belt in a homecoming bout against mandatory challenger Vincent Feigenbutz, live in the UK & Ireland on BoxNation on Saturday 15th February.
Plant (19-0, 11 KOs) became World Champion just over a year ago, outpointing Venezuelan slugger Jose Uzcategui in January. Hard-hitting Uzcategui was fancied by many to win the vacant belt, but 'Sweethands' dropped him twice and displayed serious grit.
In his first defence he dominated and stopped Mike Lee, who was 21-0 coming into the clash, on the Manny Pacquiao-Keith Thurman undercard. Next, Plant headlines the 20,000-seater Bridgestone Arena in his hometown.
IBF mandatory challenger Feigenbutz (31-2, 28 KOs) is nicknamed the 'KO King' because of his 85% knockout ratio.
The 24 year old previously held the WBA World Super-Middleweight Title after beating Mauricio Reynoso in 2015. He made one defence against Giovanni De Carolis - a controversial unanimous decision - before getting stopped in a rematch four months later.
Feigenbutz is on a run of 10 consecutive victories since that stoppage loss, nine of those coming before the final bell. Now he hopes to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Heavyweight Max Schmeling by becoming only the second German boxer to win a World Title on American soil.
