The 5ft 11in southpaw has enjoyed 16 straight wins as a professional, nine coming by way of knockout.

Cox endured a 15-month spell away from the fight scene after his involvement in an altercation outside a Swindon bar early in 2010.

He returned after almost a year and a half away and rung the changes, installing John Costello as his trainer and moving up to light middleweight.

Cox began his light middleweight career in May with a TKO win against Marcus Portman before beating Obodai Sai in September 2011 to win the Commonwealth Light Middleweight Championship.

The WBO European Super-Middleweight Champion sensationally knocked out Ferenc Albert in the first round on the Dublin show on November 7 2015.

After 11 months out of the ring, Cox returned on our Bolton card against tricky Argentine Martin Fidel Rios. It turned into an absolute brawl where both men were deducted points, Cox for headbutting and Rios for appearing to bite his opponent. After 10 scrappy rounds Cox was given the decision victory.
